Description
Our courses supports learning for shipping Class 9 and Class 8 Batteries covering the transporting and shipping of Lithium-ion, Sodium ion and Acid Batteries by Air, Sea and Road transportation. This includes when the batteries are installed in equipment or vehicles or packed with are transported alone.
The in-depth Carriage of Lithium Batteries training provides delegates with the skills and knowledge required to correctly pack, mark and label and prepare shipments of lithium batteries for transport by air, road, or sea within the IATA, IMDG, and ADR Regulations. This training is suitable for employees requiring more knowledge on batteries: shippers, freight forwarders, operators, cargo screeners.
Successful candidates will receive a CAA, IMDG and ADR certification in shipping lithium batteries, valid for two years, after which you must refresh your qualification.
Learning Objectives
- Correctly prepare a consignment of batteries for air, sea and road transportation
- Adhere to practices and standards regarding acceptance and responsibilities for the preparation and handling of batteries for air, sea and road.
Prerequisites
There are no pre-requisites required, however it is always good to have a base understanding through a Dangerous Goods Awareness course or having an overview of the products that are dangerous in your workplace.
