    Description

    Our CAA-approved Dangerous Goods (Hazmat) by Air for General Cargo Training is designed for those involved in handling, preparing, or transporting dangerous goods by air.

     The course provides a clear understanding of international regulations and the responsibilities of governing agencies. The learners will learn to define dangerous goods, identify all nine hazard classes, and interpret relevant labels and markings. It also covers how to recognize hidden or undeclared goods, check documentation for compliance, and apply passenger provisions.

    The course concludes with a validation test. Successful candidates receive a certificate in shipping dangerous goods by Air, which is valid for two years, after which you must re-validate your qualification.

    Learning Objectives

    • Understand the regulations governing the transportation of dangerous goods, including identifying the agencies involved and their responsibilities
    • Define dangerous goods and their nine hazard classes, recognize and interpret the markings and labels used to identify these materials
    • Check and identify documents and packages for hidden/undeclared or forbidden dangerous goods and passenger provisions
    • Identify safety and emergency response procedures for dangerous goods, and how to report and avoid incidents

    Prerequisites

    There are no prerequisites required, however it is always good to have a base understanding through a dangerous goods awareness course or having an overview of the products that are dangerous in your workplace.
